A Child’s Guide to Gardening

100-0093_IMGChildren, You are the most special gardeners! Why, you ask? Dear children, you hold so much of creator’s love and light within you. Your light and love is very strong and true. This is why it is so important for you to learn to plant flowers, trees, and vegetables.

Mother Earth has been ravaged and hurt by those who have forgotten their connection to her and each other. We are all very connected to our Creator, each other and Mother Earth. The task for all of us now is to help Mother Earth, Gaia, heal and build her power to support all of us on this planet.

Long, long ago, the power of the earth was very strong. One could easily feel her power in the earth, the water and the air. Now harsh chemicals have polluted everything and our lives hang on the hope that we can restore the Earth to her original pristine condition. One way of doing this is for us to stop the pollution, drilling, fracking and the use of fossil fuels. Every little thing you do either helps the earth or hurts it.

Gardening is an act of sacred communication with Mother Earth and the elements of earth, fire(the sun), water and air. The keys to sacred gardening are deep love, cooperation, listening, and respect. We approach gardening with a sense of deep respect and appreciation of the oneness of all things. This allows the planting to have flow.

We invoke or call upon our connection before we begin to garden. We call upon Mother Earth, Gaia, the devas, and elementals to guide us to what to plant for the highest good of all. We listen for the guidance. Perhaps we are to prepare the soil by adding some ingredient to help the plant grow. We listen for how much to dig before we plant and how deep to dig. This will be communicated when we listen. We do this all with love knowing we are one. We hold the plants or seeds in our hands and send our love to them knowing this will help them to grow strong. We gently place them in the soil we have prepared and lovingly tuck them in. We place our hands around the soil and roots again sending our love and intention for a successful prosperous growth. We use water we have blessed with our love to start the plants or seeds on their journey. It is our privilege and honor to watch over, protect and tend our plantings. Perhaps we sing our own song to bless the planting. That is part of the magic of gardening. We work with all of nature to support our planting.

We can consider our whole world our garden and bring the same tools from our gardening to the world. Your love, attention, joy and playfulness are your greatest tools. Please take them everywhere you go!!!
